Ski holidays Bartholomäberg – sunny balcony of Montafon!

Bartholomäberg

Surrounded by the spectacular peaks of the Silvretta and Rätikon mountains, snow-covered mountain crests and soft sloping meadows characterise the landscape around Bartholomäberg. In the midst of this picture-postcard idyll lies the mountain village on a sun-drenched, south-facing slope, just above Schruns. Not only due to its magnificent location is the resort also known as the "cradle of the Montafon" - and to right! The baroque church St. Bartholomä, with its imperial roof is the landmark and name-giver to this village. From the square in front of the church you can enjoy a breath-taking panorama view of the Rätikon mountains. Take a rest on one of the panorama seats - benches with weather-proof, yet transparent hoods - and enjoy the view from a more comfortable position. Day excursions are possible to the near, larger resorts Bludenz or St. Anton in the Montafon, which are all easily reached via car.

Besides the wonderful baroque architecture of the church, the museum "Frühmesshaus Bartholomä" is also worth a visit (being one of 4 local museums). Interesting facts about the historic mines "St. Annastollen", as well as the general history of the region's population can be found here. On winter hiking trails you to and from the museum, across wonderful Alpine meadows, you can find some tranquillity and relaxation.

In this peaceful part of Earth, you are sure to enjoy a culturally interesting, and wonderfully relaxing winter holiday.

Montafon

The 39 km long Alpine valley Montafon in Vorarlberg is mainly characterised by the small and traditional villages, and their very conscious interaction with the numerous natural monuments in this impressive mountain region. To maintain the natural surroundings and the local traditions, a club was founded called "bewusstmontafon" (conscious of Montafon) together with a brand logo, which labels all products originating from this region. The tranquil resorts in this traditional valley serve as hide-aways aside from the tourism hotspots, and besides many attractive ski areas, also provide a multitude of leisure time activities, such as winter and snowshoe hike, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and ice skating.
