Ski Area Ramsau am Dachstein
Schladming, central point of the Dachstein-Tauern region, belongs to the five biggest ski destinatons in Austria. Furthermore, it is famous outside of Austria for being the venue for the 1982 Alpine ski world championship, as well as, numerous other international world cup races. The Dachstein-Tauern region is the largest connected ski area in the region, with 175 kilometres of piste and 75 ski lifts. The ski area offers particularly high levels of snow, due to the Dachstein glacier. On the glacier, there is the 9 km long exhilirating run "Edelgrieß", with a height difference of 1,600m. A large part of the pistes lead through forests and, therefore offer both skiers and snowboarders a great time. At Hochwurzen on the 3 km long flood lit piste, there is the possibility to ski at night. Numerous deep snow and freeride areas, as well as, the 6 snow parks (amongst others on the Dachstein glacier) will excite boarders and freeriders. But that's still not all, the already included lift pass "Ski Amadé" offers you unlimited skiing fun on 860 km of pistes and 270 lift. One single lift pass is therefore valid for the regions "Salzburger Sportwelt", "Dachstein-Tauern", "Gastein", "Hochkönigs-Winterreich" and "Großarltal". Here there definitively is something for everyone.
