Travel Info Sölden (New Year)
How does one best travel to Austria? Airports include Salzburg, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, and Linz. Depending on your destination, Munich or Friedrichshafen (in Germany) or Zurich (in Switzerland) are also good options. In Austria, you will rarely find a train station in the resort, though you will find the nearest ones printed above the map, as well as the airports and their respective distances from the resort. Those travelling by car will find a route planner to the left at the bottom of the map. Simply enter your starting location and a route will be calculated. Important: please inform yourself beforehand about winter closings of specific mountain passes. Also be sure that your car is winter-proofed and equipped with snow chains. Whether travel by plane to Austria is offered can be confirmed in the booking process. A transfer, if offered, must be booked separately.
- Cars can be parked free of charge during the day in the carparks by the two large cable cars and the leisure centre. At night, the carparks at the Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl cable cars are available for a fee, payable locally (€36.50 /wk). Otherwise, all accommodations have a limited number of own parking spaces.
- 5 x per hour a free ski bus drives through Sölden, so that you may get back to your accommodation after parking your car. Should you be staying in Innerwald, Ausserwald or See, we recommend parking the car at the accommodation.
