Ski Area Markbachjoch
The ski areas in the Wildschönau region have been used for alpine sports since 1947. At an altitude of 1,903 m, 25 lifts and approx. 70 km of piste of all difficulty levels ensure that skiers of all abilities will find what they're looking for. Families and leisurely skiers are sure to love the Schatzberg area, while more ambitious skiers gravitate towards the north-facing slopes in the Markbachjoch and Lanerköpfl areas, as well as the the off-piste opportunities throughout the area. There are night skiing opportunities on two pistes, one in the Markberg and one in the Schatzberg area. All ski areas are easily accessed using the complimentary ski bus service. Boarders will enjoy the snowboard park on the Schatzberg and the Race 'n' Boarder Arena in Niederau.
