Ski holidays Font Romeu - A sun-filled holiday paradise!

Font-Romeu

In the middle of the Pyrénées Catalanes Nature Reserve, you'll find the romantic resort Font-Romeu. With about 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, Font-Romeu is one of the sunniest areas in France. With altitudes from 1,800 m, this modern ski resort is very snow-secure. A breath-taking view of the surrounding mountains is also guaranteed. The former spa and pilgrimage site was home to the 1968 French Olympic Team's training camp, and is still famous today among many athletes for this high altitude training camp. The proximity to the Spanish border makes a trip to Barcelona a must. The second-largest city in Spain is just approximately 2 hours by car from Font-Romeu.

Midi Pyrénées

The Midi-Pyrénées are located in the French part of the Pyrénées, between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The region is divided into three: the south is characterised by the Pyrénées high mountain range. The north-east and due north belong to the Massif Central's low mountain range. The central and north-western part of the region is, in contrary, flat. It is defined by the course of the river Garonne and its tributaries, which lead into the Atlantic. The predominantly agrarian-orientated region is highly active in the field aerospace, which has a good standing within Europe. The Midi Pyrénées accommodate 23 of the 38 winter sports resorts of the Pyrénées.
