Ski area Zillertal Arena

With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose from 542 kilometres of piste in the Zillertal Arena, by the Mayrhofen lifts, in the Ski and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000, in the ski area Hochzillertal – Hochfügen – Spieljoch, as well as the Wildkogel-Arena at Bramberg. The ski areas are all excellently linked to one another by a free train and bus shuttle (see ski region). For some years now, the Zillertal Arena offers free-of-charge Wi-Fi in all of its ski areas! In other words, not only can you enjoy the white bliss and the sun, but also share your latest experiences and highlights directly with your loved ones at home.

From Zell am Ziller you can directly access the "Zillertal Arena" ski area with a total of 147 km of pistes and 52 lifts. The extensive area stretches up to 2,500 m altitude and offers many diverse descents and interesting snow parks and freerider options for all skiers and snowboarders. On Austria's longest valley ride you can enjoy 10 km of piste on one go. The route from Höhen Fresser begins from the highest point in Zillertal Arena all the way down the valley, with an altitude difference of 1,930 m, while offering a spectacular panoramic view of the Ziller Valley. The deep powdery, snowy slopes at the chair lift Kapauns, as well as at the Falschbach lift are highly recommendable for all experienced skiers. From winter 2015/16 the Zillertal Arena offers the longest valley run in Austria, which at the same time, overcomes a difference in altitude of 1,930 m. The steepest piste down to the Krummbach valley should only be tackled by pros.

Starting from the 2019/2020 winter season, the 4-person "Stuanmandl" chair lift has been replaced by a new 10-person gondola for transport from Gerlos to Isskogel. The new gondola has heated seating and gets winter sports fans to their destination in half the time, allowing for more comfort and an enormous reduction in transportation time at Isskogel.

Freestylers will feel fully satisfied in the "Actionpark Kreuzwiese" at Zell am Ziller with SnakeRun and BagJump or in the "Hotzone.tv Snowpark" at Gerlos with the mega half-pipe.

Beginners will find a practice area at the Rosenalm, and carving can be enjoyed on the slopes below the Karspitz. A diverse children's entertainment programme will make sure the little ones get to learn skiing properly and really enjoy the sport. Experience a wonderful ski area with mostly intermediate pistes and great turn-in stops along the way!

Après ski Zell am Ziller

After a long and eventful day on the sunny pistes the best thing is to go an enjoy some good aprés ski - the easiest thing to do in the Zillertal Arena! Numerous huts and snow bars invite you in to party and flirt. In the Zell ski area you can already get started e.g. on the "Rosenalm" or "Kreizwiesenalm". Located at the valley station, you best go to the "Saustad'l", to "Jogg'l Kessl", into the "Krocha Alm" or to "Tuxer Pfiff-Bar". Cosy guest houses, quaint parlours and nice cafés invite the guests to try traditional and regional cuisine.

Alternatively you can also take a nice walk along the 20 km long and illuminated Ziller promenade or take a speedy go at the natural toboggan run with it's 7 km length. This is easily reached by the Gerlosstein cable car. Action and fun are sure to be found on the "Arena Coaster", the first Alpine roller coaster in the Zillertal! Sports enthusiasts can keep going on the ice rink, tennis courts and skittles alley. Nature fans however can take a ride in the horse-drawn sleighs or go on a snow-shoe hike through the snowy winter landscape around Zell.

Snowpark: Snowpark Action-Park Kreuzwiese Zell am Ziller

Those on holiday in Zell am Ziller have many opportunities to freestyle and be creative. In Zell you will find the "Action-Park Kreuzwiese", which comprises special highlights. Fun sport fans will definitely get their money's worth on the fun run, bag jump, "BMW xDrive Cup SkiMovie" run, and the "BMW xDrive Speed Check" run!

Next is the private brand of Gerlos, the "Hot-Zone Snowpark", which is located at an altitude of 2,020 m on a 30.000 m² area between the Vorkogel lift and the Ebenfeld express. Beginners, intermediates, and pros will definitely have fun here. Beginners can improve their skills and new tricks on the Beginner Line with its easy and compact set up. The Pro/Medium Combo Line in the middle of the park is always challenging freestylers with its obstacles. On the Kicker Line, which starts with two smaller jumps, you can dedicate your time solely to air time and really run riot. The newly built Jib Line doesn't leave anything to be desired. Especially great for children and even the whole family, is the Kids Line. Those who would like to relax after a long day on the piste, can enjoy the music in the Chillarea and just observe other freestylers do their thing.

The fun park in Hochkrimml is small, but lots of fun. It's located direct under the lift Filzsteinbahn and is especially suitable for children. It completes the action offer in the Arena and has the perfect conditions for the first freestyle-action try out.

More fun can be had in the Zillertal Arena. Besides the "Hot-Zone Snowpark" there is also a 100 m long and 18 m wide half-pipe near the Fussalm express.
