The holiday region Merano is an interconnection of 5 very diverse ski area and extends from the western rim, via the southern border, right up to the eastern rim of the nature reserve Texel. The Texel mountain chain is located southern of the border to Tyrol and offers impressive views of the 3,000 m mountains, whereby the Roteck with 3,337 m is the highest of them all. May it be family-friendly, romantic or active all year round with ski tours on the 3,700 m high Schalstal Glacier - Merano could not offer more diversity that it already has. Winter sports fans will find everything they are looking for here. Besides a large number of pistes there are also great freeride opportunities, and the region also offers many more activities, e.g. tobogganing, cross-country skiing, ice-climbing and winter rafting - to only name but a few.
