Ski area Gargellen

In Gargellen, skiing fun starts right at the door. The Schafberg, the main skiing area of Gargellen, offers a variety of landscapes and sports. No matter whether on skis or snowboard, whether family or ambitious winter sports enthusiast - everyone gets his money's worth with the varied slopes. There are a total of 20.8 km of blue pistes and 5.3 km of red pistes. In addition to these rather easy to medium-difficulty pistes, there are also challenging routes. For example, advanced skiers can enjoy themselves in deep snow or on one of the black pistes, which cover a good 2 km of pistes. For the very young there is the Schmuggi Luggi Winterland as well as a ski school with ski courses and child care. And after a successful day of skiing you can ski down to the village - pure winter fun!

Gargellen is also known for its ski touring routes, which lead through untouched snow fields. The local ski school organises the cross-country Madrisa round trip for experienced deep snow lovers: from Gargellen to Klosters in Switzerland and back. As a ski tourer, you have the unique opportunity to see the alpine mountain world through different eyes.

The Silvretta Montafon ski area is not far away for winter sports enthusiasts who enjoy skiing in several ski resorts. Less than 9 km from Gargellen, winter sports enthusiasts can expect 113 km of varied downhill runs and a further 27 km of ski routes. The Silvretta Montafon ski area from Gargellen is a worthwhile excursion with numerous possibilities for all levels of ability, freeriders and deep snow lovers.

Après ski Gargellen

When it comes to sports and fun off-piste, Gargellen is the place to be. A special highlight, for example, are the many winter hiking trails. Since this part of Austria has a very high reliability for snow, in winter the paths are almost always accessible with snowshoes. Such hikes are organized by the Ski School Gargellen.

Another highlight is tobogganing in the dark on the floodlit toboggan run in St. Gallenkirch and on the toboggan run in Vadans. In St. Gallenkirch there is a 5.5-kilometre-long track with 14 bends, which makes every toboggan heart beat faster. In Vandans there is tobogganing fun for the whole family on 3 kilometres. Afterwards you can end the evening with a hearty snack in one of the cosy inns.

Fans of spa treatments were also thought of in Gargellen. In the Hotel Edelweiß holidaymakers will find a cosy sauna (see information on site). With the Alpen Erlebnisbad Val Blu in Bludenz, you will also find a newly renovated sauna landscape with five different saunas including regular infusions, a natural swimming pond and an infinity pool as well as an indoor swimming pool with slide and much more, only 30 minutes by car from Gargellen.

After exciting hours on the boards, a small party is a must for many. During the skiing day some huts offer themselves as meeting place - with tasty meals and cosy sun terraces. In the evenings the Schmalzbergschöpfle, the Ganda Keller and the Schmugglerstöbli are popular places to end the day. If this is not enough for you, the best place to go is the Silvretta Montafon ski area. There, après ski lovers can expect a lot of après ski parties before returning to the hotel.

Snowpark: Snowpark Montafon Gargellen

Fans of snowparks should definitely go to the nearby ski resort Silvretta Montafon. Here you will find a paradise for freestylers, which was built only a few years ago and is now one of the largest snowparks in the region. Here you can try out the natural obstacles, wallrides, rails, wave tracks, steep curves and funslopes to your heart's content. These promise endless winter fun for beginners and professionals.

The new highlight there is the Freda Bahn where you can race at 800 m over numerous waves, jumps and steep curves. The Funslope is Austria's first freeride cross and guarantees fun for all adrenalin junkies.
