Ski area Gerlitzen

High above Lake Ossiach, about 44 km of diverse pistes and 15 km of natural ski routes of the most diverse levels of difficulty await you in the Gerlitzen ski area. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, enjoy the wide, sun-drenched pistes of the snow-sure Gerlitzen! Great artificial snow-making facilities provide for snow security from November to April and the highest quality of pistes across the board.

This ski area, in the heart of Carinthia, is especially popular with families with children due to its best-prepared slopes and wide pistes with comfortable climbing assistance, and therefore has the "Welcome Beginners" seal of excellence. Little skiers will find the best conditions for practising around the middle station, and in the "Kinder- und Schneebärenland" ("Children and Snow Bear Land"), mini winter sports fans will be well cared for. What's more is that each Friday, children have the chance to show their skills during big ski and snowboard races when riding along the Moser run. Beginners can fine tune their skills in peace on the predominantly easy to intermediate pistes.

Experts will be sure to get their money's worth on the 7 km long valley run to Klösterle, where they'll experience a difference in altitude of about 911 m. Winter sports fans will have a dreamy view of Lake Ossiach and the surrounding mountains while riding along the 1 km long Wörthersee run, of which runs down from the 1,911 m high Gerlitzen peak. An insider secret for skiing maniacs is the demanding Gegendtaler run with a length of 1.7 km. Freeriders and snowboarders can let off steam along the natural tracks or in the deep snow areas. Children will find a little snow park at the Kanzelbahn middle station.

In the ski area of Gerlitzen freestylers will be able to let off steam on skis and snowboards in a small but nice park! The "Kids Park" is located at the Klösterle section, which will especially please the beginners among you with all the different obstacles.

Jumps, boxes and waves offer a perfect introduction to the scene and will quickly cast a spell over you. The different obstacles will also make a good impression on the experts.
