The region is characterised by its sunny location south of the main Alpine ridge, high reliability of snow and perfectly groomed pistes. Thanks to short waiting times and a family atmosphere, SkiHit offers a relaxed alternative to large ski circuses.
The Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei is the largest ski area in East Tyrol. It offers an impressive panorama of over 60 three-thousand metre peaks and is therefore ideal for ambitious skiers and nature lovers. The St. Jakob ski centre in Defereggen Valley scores points with its particularly high reliability of snow right down to the valley, excellent piste conditions and a quiet, family atmosphere. The Sillian Hochpustertal ski centre is very sunny and boasts long carving runs such as the Kammabfahrt. The family-friendly area at Golzentipp in Obertilliach impresses with its cosy pistes and a wide range of options for beginners. The small, charming Kartitsch ski area is ideal for children and beginners as it offers short distances and easy slopes. Those looking for that glacier feeling will find what they are looking for in the Carinthian Mölltal glacier area, which offers reliability of snow until late spring with altitudes of over 3,000 metres. The offer is rounded off by the Ankogel ski area near Mallnitz, which delights with extensive freeride possibilities and an alpine high feeling.
Each ski area in the SkiHit network contributes to the diversity of the offer, whether it is sporty, family or relaxed. Together, they offer a varied winter sports experience that is particularly convenient and flexible thanks to the use of a single lift pass.
