Ski area Golm

The local ski area of Tschagguns is Golm, which can be reached by ski bus within just a couple of minutes. You can look forward to nearly 27 km of pistes with 12 lifts at the Golmer Joch suited for winter sport enthusiasts of every age and skill level. The ski area features a pleasant mix of blue and red pistes, all of which can be covered with artificial snow. Additionally, there are around 18 km of ski routes, which justify Montafon's reputation of being a freeride hotspot.

Especially families with children are welcome in the ski area Golm. In the Golmi-Land at the mountain station of the Grüneck (1,890 m) children will enjoy the child-friendly fun slope while their parents can savour the view from the Berghof Golf and the Panorama-Restaurant nearby. In the "Golmi-Wald" the mascot Golmi leads the way and the "Hexenwald" at the blue piste #4 is part of the family run and also popular with the little ones.

Advanced riders can enjoy the World Cup run or take an endurance challenge on the longest piste of the ski area: the 9.2 km long valley run leads from the highest point of the ski area all the way down to Vandans and spans 1460 metres of altitude. From there you can get back to the valley station in Latschau with the Golmer lift. Another piste highlight for skiers with strong nerves is the deep black run "Diabolo" - it is one of the steepest pistes in Austria with a downhill gradient of 70%.

Apart from the many piste highlights the ski area offers a family-friendly infrastructure with six mountain restaurants for a break, skiing lessons and free of charge childcare from 3 to 6 years, as well as the children's ski safari.

In addition, the "Montafon Brandnertal WildPass" lift pass offers skiing fun in seven attractive ski areas in Montafon, Brandnertal and Walgau. Together, these ski areas offer 287 kilometres of pistes (incl. 62 ski routes), which are served by 77 lifts. This makes the Montafon one of the largest ski regions in Vorarlberg. One of the piste highlights is the Hochjoch-Totale in the Silvretta Montafon ski area, the longest valley run in Vorarlberg (see ski region).

Après ski Tschagguns

Tschagguns is mainly suited for relaxation with the entire family. Wild après ski parties are not to be found in the village. However, the ski area in Golm as well as the other ski areas in the region offer various opportunities for a stop in good company after a day on skis. The panorama restaurant Grüneck is the perfect place for sunbathing and having a drink in the afternoon. The place also has free Wi-Fi. At the Golmerbahn lifts mountain station the Cin-Cin-Bar offers live music every now an then.

Classic après ski parties with dance and music mainly takes place at the Hochjoch-Bahn lift's valley station in Schruns. In St. Gallenkirch, those who are in a good mood for a party go to the "Urmonti" ski bar in Schruns or the umbrella bar at the Zamang valley station.

Sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the Montafon region, and thus also in the area surrounding Schruns-Tschagguns. Approx. 150 km of signposted snow shoe hiking paths are available, e.g. leading up to Silvretta-Bielerhöhe. Excursions in the deep powder snow are also exquisite on skis: several ski tours lead through the unspoiled snow landscape, the "Madrisa" circuit tour even leads to Switzerland. If you prefer hiking boots, you will find 290 km of prepared and partly illuminated hiking paths in the Montafon region. Village tours, routes around the lake, trails up to the alpine mountain pastures and long-distance hiking paths make up a great selection of hiking possibilities in the region.

The Golm ski area has numerous attractive toboggan runs. One option that is not depending on snow is the "Alpine Coaster Golm", which leads down on rails from Latschau to Vandans on a length of 2.6 km. The run waits up with fast turn like a 360 ° roundabout and 15 switchbacks. A beautiful natural toboggan run can be found in the same area. The 3 km run from Latschau to Vandans is illuminated in the evening and can be covered with artificial snow. As an intermediate run, it is marked in red and leads down through 21 hairpin turns. Further natural toboggan runs can be found in Kappell (5 km), at the Kristbergbahn lift (500 m) and in the Garfresche ski area (5.5 km).

In bad weather, Aktivpark Montafon is a great alternative for young and old. Here you will find a covered artificial ice rink from October to March for ice skating, curling, and a regular ice skating disco.

Snowpark: Snowpark Montafon Tschagguns

The lift pass "Montagon Brandnertal" includes 3 snowparks. "Snowpark Montafon" is located in the Silvretta Montafon ski area which can be reached via Schruns. The park is known to be one of the best snowparks in Austria. The large funzone for freestylers is located at Fredakopf, and it offers two areas - a snowpark as well as a freeride-cross. Up to 40 obstacles can be used in the park, among which are several kickers, rails and wallrides. Riders can take a break in the chill area with music. Snowpark Montafon also hosts contests and event. The 800 m long "Freeride-cross Montafon" is right next to the snowpark. It is a special type of funslope with naturual obstacles, steep turns and snow tunnels. The diverse obstacle run is also suitable for beginners.

Although the Golm ski area does not have a conventional snow park, it does have a cross course with kickers, camel humps and steep turns.
