50 km Cross-country trails (in km):

There are around 50 km of cross-country trails available around the Wurmberg. The trails wind through the beautiful Harz Nature Park and, at altitudes of between 600 and 1,000 metres, offer unique views of the winter landscape around the Brocken. Due to the significant elevation changes of up to 400 metres, some of the trails are quite challenging and require a good level of fitness. The trails from Wernigerode and the incorporated village of Schierke range from the challenging 12 km Winterberg trail, via the 5 km Sport trail – where you can ski under championship conditions – to the 10 km Stadtwald trail in the centre of Wernigerode.
