Ski area Monterosa Ski

With the "Monterosa-Ski incl. glacier" lift pass, you get access to the eponymous ski region, covering 175 km of piste and 39 modern lifts. The large ski region is located in the Aosta Valley and includes four ski areas, for example the small family ski area of Estoul, which is the local ski area of Brusson. The ski area offers 16 km of primarily red pistes in the lower areas, and a few blue pistes for novice skiers, as well as a challenging cross-country track.

Monte Rosa is one the 15 highest ski areas in Italy, making it not only snow-safe, but also gives you the opportunity to experience very varied skiing. The ski area connects three valleys with gondolas taking skiers over Colle Bettaforca (2,727 m) and Punta Indra (3,260 m). The large area has pistes for all levels of experience, and snow cannons can provide the pistes with artificial snow when weather conditions aren't optimal. Moreover, variation is offered through snowparks, kid areas, race tracks and cosy mountain huts. The many intermediate pistes as well as 5 km of ski-routes for freeriding offer great possibilities for experienced skiers. The legendary "Punta Indren" piste offers a difference in altitude of 2,000 metres.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

In quiet Brusson, après ski is all about relaxation and sports in the unique mountain landscape. One of the highlights in resort is the large offer of Nordic Sports. In the centre Foyer de Fond there are showers, changing rooms and an infrastructure fit for competitions - after all, international contests are taking place here.

Ice skaters can use the small ice rink in Brusson and then warm up in the attached café with hot beverages. The snowy landscape is the perfect place for ski tours off the pistes. Starting in the ski area Estoul, day tours for snow shoe hikers are on offer.

A very exceptional activity in winter, but then again all the more beautiful, is a tour with a hot air balloon. Wrapped up in warm clothes, the view of Aosta Valley, mount Monte Rosa and the surrounding mountain chains from above is simply breathtaking.

Those who want to spend a day full of relaxation should visit the spa centre at Monterosa Thermal Bath, which is located in Champoluc only 12 km from Brusson.

Snowpark: Snowpark Castore Brusson

Each one child-friendly baby snowpark can be found in the ski areas Estoul, Antagnod and Gressoney-Saint-Jean. Of course there also is a grown up version in the Monte Rosa ski region as well: The snowpark Castore is located on an altitude of 2,350 m at the foot of Indren. The park is next to the red slope and has a 3 person chair lift. The 300 m line is divided into an intermediate and a beginner's area. More than a dozen different boxes and rails, six jumps and two table jumps are available here. In order to be able to tell apart the different levels of difficulty from S to XL, the elements are marked in different colours, so that everyone will easily find their own course.
