Cesana Torinese

In the Italian Alps, near the French border, the small Italian community of Cesana Torinese lies at an altitude of 1,354 metres. It is situated between the two winter sports resorts of Sestriere (Italy) and Mongenèvre (France). Together with five other small communes and the associated ski areas, the three villages form Italy's largest ski area, the "Via Lattea" ski association, which translates as "Milky Way". Cesana Torinese is therefore the perfect starting point for a fantastic winter sports experience. And that's not all:

As small as Cesana Torinese may be, it has already made a name for itself worldwide as a winter sports destination: When nearby Turin hosted the 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Cesana Torinese was the venue for biathlon, bobsleigh, luge and skeleton competitions. In 2011, the small community also hosted another important winter sports competition - the World Luge Championships.

Via Lattea

Situated directly on the French-Italian border at 1,368 - 2,800 m is the extensive Via Lattea ski area. Entrance to the ski area is possible from both the French and Italian side. With 400 kilometres of piste and 71 lifts, the "Milk Street" offers gigantic fun on the pistes to meet all demands! Via Lattea, which became famous through the 1997 Ski World Championship and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, has many challenging runs. Moreover, Sestriere is one of the hosts for the 2016/2017 Ski World Cup.

In the evening, one can enjoy "la dolce vita" in the cosy restaurants or enjoy the great après ski atmosphere in the bars and discos.
