Information on cross-country skiing

102 km Cross-country trails (in km):

Plan de Corones/Kronplatz has 102 km of cross-country ski trails for classic-style and skating-style skiing. At 42 km, the Gsiesertal cross-country trail is the longest in the region. It is also the venue for the annual Casies Valley Run, the largest sporting event in South Tyrol and a highlight for every cross-country skiing fan!

The Antholz Valley is known far beyond the Italian border as a cross-country skiing and biathlon Mecca! In the idyllic valley, where the Biathlon World Cup takes place every year, you will find over 62 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country trails for a wide range of abilities. The "Südtirol Arena" biathlon stadium, which is located next to Lake Antholz, has already hosted the Biathlon World Championships several times, most recently in 2007.
The cross-country trails run mostly at an altitude of around 1,600 metres and are therefore very reliable in terms of snow.

The approximately seven-kilometre-long high altitude cross-country ski trail on the "Staller Sattel" is even located at an altitude of 2,000 metres and offers magnificent views of the frozen lake. If the temperatures are right, there are also some circuits on the lake itself. Numerous biathlon and cross-country skiing courses are on offer for anyone who wants to learn the sport.
