Ski holidays San Martino in Badia – Ladin holiday village in Val Badia

San Martino in Badia

San Martino in Badia (German: "St. Martin in Thurn") is a sunny village at the entrance of Val Badia. The municipality is similar to Corvara, Wengen or Enneberg, being characterised by the Ladin language and culture. Visitors can learn more about the centuries-old culture when visiting the Ladin Ciastel Museum, located on a hill in the upper half of the resort in the Thurn Palace. San Martino in Badia itself is embedded amongst the fascinating landscape of the jagged Dolomite peaks. Not too far away, the mighty Peitlerkofel mountain range stands tall, with the main peak, Peitlerkofel (2,875 m) being the local mountain of San Martino in Badia.

Winter sports fans can step right into the action when staying in San Martino in Badia: Plan de Corones is one of the top ski areas in Southern Tyrol and is located nearby. Access to the world-famous is also possible in the nearby Alta Badia. The free ski bus can take you to the valley station every 20 minutes.

In San Martino in Badia, you'll be able to experience the connection between nature, culture and winter sports in order enjoy a truly unique holiday experience.

Plan de Corones (Kronplatz)

At the foot of the Plan de Corones (2,275 m), in the centre of the picturesque Val Pusteria, are 14 diverse and attractive South Tyrolean villages. Modern gondolas start from various stations and speed up to the peak, from which imposing 360-degree views unfold. Diverse sporting events take place here on a regular basis, e.g. the Val Pusteria ski marathons including the Valle di Casies run, the biggest sporting event in South Tyrol. 120 kilometres of piste, approx. 32 modern lifts, a half-pipe, as well as ample recreational and sporting opportunities and lively après ski ensure a good deal off piste! This ski area is also great for families, thanks to numerous facilities such as the "Croniworld".
