In Santa Caterina, particularly experienced cross-country skiers get their money's worth: the Valtellina piste, for example, is up to 15 km long and leads through a dense forest plain at an altitude of 1,800 metres. International competitions have already taken place here.
In neighbouring Bormio, on the other hand, there are rather easy classic-style cross-country trails (5 km in total). This also includes the two-kilometre floodlit trail "Alù". Another floodlit trail is located in Valdidentro: a whole 15 kilometres of the "Pista Viola" are floodlit in the evening! In total, Valdidentro offers 25 kilometres of cross-country trails with a variety of sections of all levels of difficulty.
