Ski holidays Donovaly – Great fun for the little ones!
Donovaly
The small village of Donovaly lies between the Starohorské vrchy, Low Tatras and High Fatra mountain ranges in central Slovakia. Originally comprising seven widely scattered charcoal-burners’ settlements, the village is now – thanks in part to its altitude (960 m) – an important, well-developed tourist centre in Slovakia, both in winter and summer. Hikers appreciate its proximity to the Low Tatras National Park (NAPANT), whilst winter sports enthusiasts will find one of the country’s leading ski resorts in Donovaly. Donovaly is also renowned for its dog sled races; the first one took place here in 1992. Since then, the village has even hosted European and World Championship races.Upper Granta Valley
The Upper Granta Valley is one of Slovakia’s most popular tourist regions. The valley, which is home to the country’s second-longest river (298 km), lies in the centre of Slovakia and offers ideal conditions for an action-packed holiday, particularly for active holidaymakers. In summer, the Upper Granta Valley is renowned as a destination for walkers and cyclists, whilst in the colder months the ski resorts attract winter sports enthusiasts. After all, the valley is nestled between the mountains of the Low Tatras and the Muráň Plateau. To this day, the valley’s inhabitants place great importance on preserving traditional customs and dances.Getting to Donovaly
