Ski area Kranjska Gora

With 20 kilometres of piste, the Kranjska Gora ski area is one of the five largest ski areas in Slovenia and is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts and families. It is easily accessible via the three access points of Kranjska Gora, Podkoren and Rateče and has six chair lifts and nine t-bar lifts.

The Planica Nordic Ski Centre has a t-bar lift with a practice slope that is perfect for beginners. Those who want to venture onto more challenging pistes after the practice slope should start in Kranjska Gora, as a beautiful descent into the valley is possible from here. If you're looking for even more of a challenge, you can also take the chair lift from Podkoren to red and black pistes. The ski area therefore offers ideal conditions for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.

The accommodation in Kranjska Gora is very close to the pistes, which is particularly advantageous for families.

Après ski Kranjska Gora

Slovenia and Kranjska Gora in particular offer numerous opportunities for activities. You can go ice climbing at the icy Lucifer waterfall in the Martuljek forest. Snow biking is also very popular in Slovenia. As the snow bike is very stable and safe, your previous experience is irrelevant. Lake Jasna offers a natural ice skating rink in winter. There are also 100 kilometres of hiking trails that can also be used in winter.

There are also several routes for ski tourers in the Upper Sava Valley. While the routes from the peaks of the Karawanken are suitable for beginners, advanced ski tourers can venture over the ridges of the Julian Alps. The most popular routes are "Mojstrovka", "Kotovo sedlo" and "Za Cmirom".

In the evening in Kranjska Gora, you can set off on a torch-lit toboggan run, take part in a full moon snowshoe hiking tour or visit a small market on the slope with illuminated houses and a range of culinary and other artisan products.
