The Alt St. Johann-Unterwasser-Wildhaus winter region offers you around 44.5 km of fantastic cross-country ski trails in classic-style and skating-style. The trails lead to beautiful plateaus with marvellous views, through quiet and snow-covered forest landscapes or through more challenging terrain. The floodlit trail in Unterwasser leads all the way to Alt St. Johann and is 5 km long, making it perfect for beginners. During the day, you can even ski a further 9 km to Starkenbach. From Iltios, you have the option of using a 2 km long connecting trail to reach the panoramic trail on Alp Sellamatt.
The nearby villages of Hemberg and Schönengrund also invite you to enjoy cross-country skiing. There are a further 38 km of wonderful cross-country trails for you to enjoy. If you want to learn the sport for the first time, you can join a course on site; hire stations can also be found in the villages.
