Information on cross-country skiing
38 km km of cross-country tracks:
In Miemin and Obsteig there are each 8 trails for cross-country skiing with a total of approx. 38 km piste. These trails lead partly though larch forests and small villages, or past larger resorts and across vast expanses of meadows. Besides the sporty aspect, this is also the perfect way of enjoying nature in peace and quiet. Both skating and classic style tracks, ranging from easy to intermediate level, are only waiting to be explored. The longest trail of the region is the "Gurgltal Loipe", with 18.8 km total length and preferably undertook by more experienced skiers. Beginners can enjoy themselves on another level: every Sunday there are try-out lessons available. Participation in the lessons, as well as use of the trails is for free, provided you are in the possession of a Gäste.Card.
With more than 80 days of snow throughout the year and thanks to the perfectly prepared trails, the sun plateau region Mieming & Triol Mitte have been awarded with the Tyrolean Cross-country trail Quality Seal.
