Silvretta Montafon Ski area
Thanks to the balanced mix of blue, red and black runs, there’s something for everyone here: Beginners can enjoy practising their turns on sections of the resort’s longest run (the Hochjoch-Totale at Grasjoch), which covers a vertical drop of 1,740 metres over a distance of 12 km. The 2-kilometre-long "Piste 44", on the other hand, is reserved for experts.
Secured deep-snow and freeride areas offer plenty of variety off-piste too – for example, in the popular Hochjoch area – which is easily accessible! A highlight for freestylers is the Montafon Snow Park. To this end, the former 780-metre-long Nova Park fun park was relocated to the Grasjoch and significantly expanded.
The ski resort is particularly well suited to "expert skiers" and "freeriders". Under the slogan "BlackScorpions – fancy a bit of a thrill?", you can experience the seven most difficult and steepest runs here – definitely not for the faint-hearted!
In addition, there is a speed test track and a public race track with timing facilities where you can set your personal bests.
Après ski in Silvretta Montafon
In addition, you’ll find a wide range of après-ski options spread throughout the ski resort, from small ski huts to large restaurants. Here you’ll be offered a wide selection of dishes, from simple regional fare to culinary delights.
Away from the slopes, several toboggan runs in the Montafon beckon – including the longest night toboggan run in Vorarlberg, stretching 5.5 km. Night tobogganing also takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Garfreschabahn. Afterwards, you can enjoy a hearty mountain meal at the T3 Alpenhotel Garfrscha and round off the evening in a rustic atmosphere (toboggan hire and dinner not included).
A worthwhile alternative to partying and tobogganing is snowshoeing in the Montafon. The region boasts numerous marked trails through snow-covered landscapes – from leisurely to challenging, there’s something for every ability level. Particularly popular is a circular route to Gasthof Rellseck, which takes around 3.5 hours to complete. Trails to the hunting lodge or towards Kristberg also offer impressive views. Those who are unfamiliar with the area or prefer to be accompanied can take part in guided snowshoe and winter walks.
Snowpark Silvretta Montafon: Snowpark Montafon
The nearest snow park to let off steam is located in Silvretta Montafon. The Snowpark Montafon, located at the Fredakopf lifts, was built for the first time in April 2012 and has since impressed with brand new obstacles and an exciting setup. A total of 40 different obstacles with 20 jibs, which are shaped every day by a team of several people, enable a wide range of moves and jumps. Different sized kickers, rails, jibs, boxes, hips and wall rides leave nothing to be desired and invite you to let your creativity run wild. A chill-out area also offers space to relax and chat to good music after a busy day.
Action and fun are also guaranteed with the various cross trails in the ski area. Whether freeride and family cross on the Freda lift or kids' cross on the Kapell lift - everyone will find their own personal challenge here.
