With 580 km of pistes, 164 lifts and an area of over 400 km², the Les Portes du Soleil ski area is one of the largest in the world and impresses with its gigantic dimensions! It offers romantic forest descents, untouched deep snow slopes, steep mogul pistes and first-class fun parks. This is Les Portes du Soleil, the "Gates of the Sun"!
The extensive ski area between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc is perfect for day trips and the cosy ski huts are perfect for lingering. A total of eleven snowparks and four boardercross routes await snowboarders. Avoriaz, which is located at an altitude where snow is guaranteed, is the meeting point for the boarder scene with four fun parks, a half-pipe, a forest run with obstacles and a wide range of activities for night owls. Deep powder snow and freeride fans also have a huge choice! Advanced skiers can put their skills to the test on the infamous "Le Mur Suisse" mogul piste at the Chavanette Pass or on the public race course with timekeeping.
Beginners will get their money's worth, especially on the French side. When crossing the border, you should never forget a valid identity card, as there are regular checks here!
