Ski area Les Sybelles

Ski area Les Sybelles

"Les Sybelles" (1,100 - 2,620 m) offers 310 versatile kilometres of piste as one of the biggest ski regions in France with mostly easy to medium levels of difficulty, as well as 72 lifts and altogether six interconnected ski areas. The regions at the bottom of l'Ouillon (2,431 m) that offer a great variety are called Le Corbier, Saint Sorlin d'Arves, St. Jean d'Arves, La Toussuire, Les Bottières and St. Colomban des Villards.

The massive area of pistes offers ideal conditions for beginners and families with children because the numerous blue pistes arrange for a diverse introduction into the skiing pleasures for the less practised. The mostly blue pistes of Le Corbier bottom out levelly so that beginners or children can reach the village without difficulty at any time. Experienced skiers will also enjoy the 200 km of red and just under 19 km of black pistes.

In addition to many family friendly ski runs, Les Sybelles also offers very good deep powder snow conditions, amongst others, at l'Ouillon, Bellard and Grand Truc. Those who like to let loose on the prepared pistes will have fun on the black piste "Casse Pipe". Freestylers can run riot in the snowpark, and night-skiers can enjoy two floodlight pistes.

During the 2016/17 winter season, the ski area made large investments, including the creation of a new, red piste from the L'Ouillon (2,431 m) and two brand-new chair lifts. Both, the 4-person chair lift Ourson, as well as a the 6-person chair lift Voie Lactée, take off some of the load of the Sybelles-Express at the Pointe du Corbier. Further, the Crozat-Zone has been re-designed and the beginner area in Le Corbier has been fitted with new magic carpets.

Night skiing Saint Sorlin (Les Sybelles)

Saint Sorlin does not only stick out from the mass of large ski areas because of its mainly wooden buildings, night skiing is also a lot more familial. Whenever the French ski resort invites winter sports enthusiasts to night skiing, it is all about the little ones. The little skiers who take ski lessons in resort can turn "night" into day after nightfall: the night ski area invites children to race down the pistes in floodlight and proudly show-off their new-learned skills. Young or old, winter sports fans could not be more proud of themselves when it comes to night skiing. Also adults will get their money's worth in Saint Sorlin after skiing. The resort offers night hikes with torches, including a wonderful panoramic view of the valley and often fireworks.

Après ski Saint Sorlin (Les Sybelles)

Apres ski in Saint Sorlin is held rather quiet. After an exciting day on the piste you can let the evening come to a cosy end with delicious Savoyard food, such as Raclette or a cheese fondue. If you still are not beat after that, you can visit the pub "L'Avalanche" and enjoy a round of billiards or darts, while party animals can shake a leg in the disco "D'Sybelles Club" with a few great cocktails in hand.

A day away from the piste is well spent in Saint Sorlin d'Arves as there are many leisure activities on offers. No matter if you are looking to go snowshoe hiking or dog-seld riding, speeding through the snow on Quads or going paragliding, the numerous activity offers seem to never come to an end! Or visit one of the local dairy production farms and experience the art of cheese-making.

Snowpark: Snowpark Arvapark Saint Sorlin (Les Sybelles)

In the ski area "Les Sybelles", the "Arvapark" awaits every type of freestyler. Located at the L'Ouillon in La Tussier, between 2,100 - 2,370 m altitude, lays the largest park in the ski area. Red and black modules are geared to more experienced riders and pros. Huge boxes, tables and kickers demand some creativity and skill. Further there is also the "Easy Park" with some blue and green modules for beginners. Of course there is also a boardercross run available. A total of 1.5 km length with 14 obstacles provide a great line for challenging battles.
