Ski area Watles - Mals

With the lift pass "Zwei Länder Skiarena", you have access to a total of 211 kilometres of pistes and 55 lift systems in 6 ski areas: Sulden, Schöneben, Haideralm, Watles, Trafoi and Nauders (see: Ski Region).

The ski area Watles is one of the 16 ski area in the Ortler Skiarena and is among the most popular ski areas in the Vinschgau. With a total of 18 km, it is manageable for families and ideal for pleasure skiers of all ages. Everyone profits from the mild climate and the wide slopes with their snow-making facilities, and can enjoy the panoramic view of the peaks of the Sesvenna Alps in the tripoint between Italy, Switzerland and Austria. With the "Prämajur" and "Watles" chair lifts you can head up to the slopes, with the latter bringing the sledding fans to the popular illuminated night tobogganing run. Children are professionally looked after in the ski kindergarten Bubo Kinderpark. Here, there are two magic carpets, a ski carousel, a snow igloo, diverse play equipment and a children's restaurant.

A highlight for speed skiers is the skicross obstacle course, where you can ski at high speeds over waves, banked curves and direction changes on a 1 km long stretch. For experienced deep snow fans there is the freeride slope "Sautal", a wonderful red route that's 4.5 km long. With the 5 km valley slope you can finally return to the valley station of the resort.

Après ski Malles Venosta

If you would rather remain more active, you will find a great area for it in Watles. On the slopes above the hamlet of Prämajur, there are wonderful hiking trails and snow shoe routes, that lead across the mountain pastures and to cosy stops in the huts. Hikers should also not miss out on the view from the peak of the Spitzigen Lun (2,324 m), the mountain local to Malles Venosta.

In the resort itself, the modern sport and spa centre "Sport Well" offers a broad range of leisure activities for after a day of skiing. This includes a swimming pool, fitness rooms, sauna, tennis courts, a bowling alley and a beauty area for cosmetic and massage treatments. If you like tobogganing, you're in the right place in Malles Venosta: directly at the ski area Watles, there is a night time toboggan run of over 4 km, which can be reached with the Watles lift. In addition, approx. 10 km to the north of Malles Venosta, there is the Reschensee, a trademark top-spot for the ice skating scene with a 2 km long stretch to skate along.
