Ski holidays Malles Venosta – sunny cultural centre of the Upper Vinschgau!

Malles Venosta

Impressive medieval buildings, strong fortifications, the highest Benedictine abbey in Europe and the incredible natural landscape of the Upper Vinschgau: welcome to Malles Venosta (German: "Mals"), the second largest municipality in Southern Tyrol, with around 5000 residents. The centre of the village is at an altitude of around 1,000 m and is the main resort in the idyllic holiday region of Vinschgau. The resort's appearance is characterised by interesting church towers from various time periods, which is the reason why Malles Venosta used to be called "the seven towered". Even though only five of the seven church towers remain, the historical centre is still especially a joy for those interested in culture. Just as rich as the culture are the various leisure activities in the area surrounding Malser. The offers range from hiking routes, e.g on the Spitzige Lun (2,325 m), to great cross country trails in the renowned Nordic Centre Schlinig and to the family-friendly slopes in the ski area at the Erlebnisberg Watles (2,557 m). Malles Venosta is also the terminus for the Vinschgaubahn train, which allows for a perfect connection throughout the valley and lets you travels to Schluderns and Naturns to Meran and Bozen.

Ortler Region

Amidst the national park of Stilfserjoch, framed by 14 peaks, each above an altitude of 3,000, lies the Ortler region. Its named after the 3,905 m high, most well-known glacier in the eastern Alps. The grandiose landscape surrounding the Ortler captivates both visitors of winter and summer. Around the Ortler, you can experience pure skiing fun from November - May, including the impressive panoramic view of the Ortler, Cevedale, and the Königsspitze.
