Ski area 3 Zinnen Dolomiten

The lift pass "3 Zinnen Dolomiten" gives you access to approx. 115 km of piste which are accessible via 31 lift systems. The 3 Zinnen Dolomites offers several small and cosy but diverse ski areas in between the resorts Sesto, San Candido an Dobbiaco: soft slopes for beginners and families, more demanding pistes for experienced skiers and pleasure skiers, and extremes for professionals who can prove their skills on the pistes "Raut" and "Holzriese".

With its approx. 39 km, the Sesto/Helm - Rotwand ski area offers the largest selection of pistes. The ski area can be reached from both Sesto and Vierschach. Below the rock faces of Rotwandspitze you can find especially challenging pistes, such as e.g. "Holzriese 2", which is one of the steepest pistes in Italy. It has a decline of 7 %, and passes 300 m in altitude on a length of 700 m. On Rotwand meadows, everybody can test their speed limit on a racing piste with time measurement. In San Candido, in the Haunold ski area, you can look forward to 8 km of piste. If you want to ski around the entire valley, you should dare the "Giro Delle Cime", the Sesto Domolmites round course. The day tour leads over five mountains and approx. 30 km of piste, passing altogether approx. 9,700 m in altitude.

Since the 2014/15 winter, unchecked skiing fun is possible without having to commute from one mountain to the other, and the area was connected further. With the newly build 8-person gondola "Drei Zinnen", the "Helm" part of the ski area was joined to the "Rotwand" part. The new connection also gave room for two new pistes with a total length of 5 km.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Sesto

Many ski areas in Italy offer pistes that open for skiing by night time on selected dates. Like this, skiing fun is extended to after dusk. The 3 Zinnen Dolomiten ski area is one of the night ski areas that offer night ski pistes. Near Sesto, you can participate in night skiing every Tuesday and Friday from 19:00 - 22:00 at Haunold. The approx. 3 km piste is illuminated during the extended opening hours for night skiers. Apart from night skiing, you can also go night tobogganing at Haunold. After you have had your night-time skiing fun, you can stop in the cosy Riese-Haunold hut in order to end the day.

Après ski Sesto

After skiing, the family-friendly ski area is a rather quiet place. However, you can of course enjoy the rest of your evening in one of the quaint mountain huts or typical restaurants and cafés.

Everybody who wants to stay active after skiing all day can look forward to ice skating, curling as well as several toboggan runs in and around Sesto. Alternatively, you can let off steam in the tennis hall, and then relax your muscles in the public indoor pool.

Snowpark: Kids Skicross Park Sesto

Freestylers get their money's worth at the Kids Skicross Park in the Haunold ski area. Now even amateurs can try their hand on the legendary ski cross world cup slope. It features 6 steep turns, 12 waves and 4 kickers.

The family offer has recently been rounded off by two new family fun slopes, one on the "Rotwand" and one on the "Helm" ski mountain.
