Ski area Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters)
A comfortable aerial tramway takes you quickly from Davos to the Jakobshorn ski area. A highlight is the 12 km descent from the Weissfluh summit to Küblis with an altitude difference of 2,034 metres. There are also numerous first-class freeride areas, floodlit pistes and, for pros, some prospective black descents. The area is also a paradise for freestylers: national and international competitions regularly take place in the area's fun parks.
The Jakobshorn - a snowboarding mecca for years - with the SuperPipe on Bolgen deserves a special mention. But there are also kickers, rails and a boardercross with kicker in the other areas - there really is nothing left to be desired here! There are no groomed pistes on Pischa, but all the more secured deep snow fun - unique in the Alps.
Families in particular will get their money's worth on the easy pistes and in the practice area on the Rinerhorn. The wide pistes on the Jakobshorn are very suitable for the whole family. On the Bolgen, at the foot of the Jakobshorn, the little ones can discover the fascination of skiing in the children's ski school with kids' parcour course. Madrisa-Land is also the centre of attraction for families with children.
In the Davos Klosters Mountains ski region, approx. 20 Wi-Fi hotspots are available in mountain restaurants and catering establishments.
For all early risers, the Parsenn ski area offers the opportunity to be one of the first in the morning, even before the official opening, to make your tracks in the freshly groomed snow and experience the sunrise, a perfect start to the day!
Night skiing Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters)
There are a few places in Switzerland where you can still go skiing at night. The Davos Klosters ski area is one such night ski area. In Davos, the piste on the Rinerhorn is floodlit for night skiing every Wednesday and Friday between 7pm and 10.30pm. Night tobogganing is also possible every Wednesday and Friday from 7 pm to 10.30 pm on the spectacular toboggan run. Another piste for night skiing is located at the Selfrange ski lift in Klosters, which is open to skiers and snowboarders on Tuesdays between 7pm and 9pm and on Fridays between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. In addition to night skiing, Nordic sports enthusiasts can also enjoy cross-country skiing at night. A 2.5 km cross-country trail in Davos is floodlit from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm from Monday to Friday. On the approximately 3.2 km cross-country trail in Klosters, cross-country skiers also have the opportunity to enjoy night-time cross-country skiing every Tuesday and Thursday until 8.30 pm. And best of all: cross-country skiing is free of charge throughout the region.Après ski Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters)
Away from the pistes, there are also plenty of opportunities to spend the day as varied as possible: for example in the "Eau-là-là" adventure bath with spa area, the Färbi sports hall with climbing wall, tennis and squash courts, 156 km of winter hiking trails, toboggan runs, paragliding, an indoor riding arena, horse-drawn sleigh rides and much more.
If you prefer to experience a bit of culture, there are also various museums such as the Winter Sports Museum and a variety of restaurants with local and international specialities as well as a beautiful shopping promenade.
Snowpark Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters): JatzPark
The Jakobshorn has been a freestyle mecca since the late 1980s, with the "Bolgenschanze", for example, being opened as a snowboard hotel in 1993. But the snowpark and the SuperPipe are the real stars at Jakobshorn. The "JatzPark" is located right next to the "Jatz Junior" lifts and offers everything a freestyler's heart desires. At an altitude of 2,300 metres, the park offers three different lines: medium jib, medium slopestyle and pro slopestyle. Different kickers, such as the 18 m Big Air, Wallride Spine, Traktor Tire Bonk or rails in designs such as the Elbowrail or the 6 m Straight Pipeline - in the "JatzPark", everyone can give free rein to their creativity and take their tricks to the next level.
If you feel like partying after a perfect freestyle day full of adrenaline, it's best to head straight to the "Jatzhütte", which boasts a hot tub and sun terrace and regularly hosts international DJs so that you can round off your successful day in style to the finest tunes.
The special highlight on Jakobshorn is the 120-metre-long SuperPipe. It is located on the Bolgen in the Davos valley. The pipe can also be used for training several times a week in the evening thanks to floodlighting. Regular maintenance ensures that the half-pipe is always perfectly groomed.
In addition to the freestyle paradise on Jakobshorn, there is also a small snowpark on the Rinerhorn and one on the Selfrangalift as well as ski and boardercross trails on Parsenn and Madrisa. So if you're looking for decent freestyle fun, Davos-Klosters is the place to be.
