Ski area Latemar - Obereggen/Pampeago/Predazzo
The Latemar - Obereggen/Pampeago/Predazzo ski area is the largest and most varied area in the "Val di Fiemme-Obereggen" lift pass network. It extends at an altitude of between 1,540 m and 2,388 m and offers around 49 kilometres of piste, which are served by 18 modern lift systems. The majority of the descents are of intermediate difficulty and run through an impressive Dolomite landscape - from open slopes with panoramic views of the striking Latemar massif to reliability-of-snow forest pistes in the lower area.
For experienced skiers, the area offers some sporting highlights such as the steep Pala di Santa or the black variant of the Canalone Agnello. Snowboarders and freestylers will find perfect conditions in the Obereggen snowpark with kickers, boxes, a half-pipe and floodlights. If you want to end the day of skiing in style, you can also ski or tobogganing in the evening on the floodlit piste in Obereggen. The Ski Center Latemar impresses with its modern facilities, varied pistes and impressive Dolomite backdrop, making it ideal for sports enthusiasts and families alike.
In addition to the Ski Center Latemar, the other areas in the lift pass also offer worthwhile alternatives. The Alpe Lusia-Bellamonte scores points with its sunny south-facing slopes and wide, beginner-friendly pistes - ideal for families and beginners. Advanced skiers and pros, on the other hand, are drawn to Alpe Cermis. The famous Olympic descent there is one of the longest and most spectacular in the Dolomites: 7.5 kilometres in length and 1,390 metres in altitude in one stretch demand endurance and technique. For those who prefer a quieter experience, the Lavazé plateau and Oclini (Jochgrimm) offer a small, family-orientated ski area with gentle pistes and an extensive network of cross-country skiing trails. Finally, the high alpine Passo Rolle offers a spectacular panorama of the Pale di San Martino, natural descent and plenty of space for individualists and freeriders.
Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.Night skiing Latemar - Obereggen/Pampeago/Predazzo
